Children are like sponges – they absorb from everything and everyone around them. The Y believes the values and skills learned as a child are vital for future life success. That’s why our staff understands the cognitive, physical and social development of kids. At the Y, babies develop trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world, and school-age kids make friends, learn new skills and the value of homework. Most importantly, children learn how to do their best. We believe confident kids today, make for contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.

Afterschool Care

With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, the Y afterschool program serves elementary students with a variety of programmatic and activity options to explore and develop their interests and talents. Each day, children are given the opportunity to partake in a variety of physical activities, offered a healthy snack, and provided with 30 minutes of structured homework help. The Y Afterschool program is grounded on the character development traits of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.

Child Watch

The Y offers free drop-in childcare for infants through preschoolers while mom or dad make use of the Y. Playful, engaging options are plentiful for your young children while you exercise or connect with others over shared interests.

Kids Zone

The Y offers the opportunity for elementary-aged youth to work on fitness while family members utilize the Y knowing their kids are engaged in a variety of healthy activities. The Y Kids Zone educates children in the importance of flexibility, aerobic fitness, muscle endurance, body composition and muscular strength. Qualified staff will lead your kids in various fun filled classes (e.g. exercise, dance, cardio training, nutrition education and more). The Kids Zone program promotes a healthier lifestyle by reaching and engaging kids in their well being of spirit, mind and body.
The YMCA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
